Louisiana!!

We had a wonderful time taking six days to drive down to our new home in Louisiana. On our way we had the opportunity to stop in Moab, Arches National Park, and Mesa Verde. Wonderful experiences that the children enjoyed just as much as we did. Even the Chili dog did great, she was perfectly content riding in her kennel the whole way and she didn't have any accidents in the hotels! Joseph did great, considering this was his first road trip with kids. :) When we arrived we stayed a couple of days in a hotel at the Harrah's Louisana Downs (a horse race track) and then we were able to move into our brand new home.

Hailey started school that Monday and she loves it!  Already she's made a ton of friends.  The hard part is that her bus comes at 7:10 and so she has to wake up between 6 and 6:30 which is hard for the little night owl.  Fortunately it's made bedtime a lot easier!  At first she was excited about wearing a uniform but by Friday she was already sick of it!  They tested her and she's the top reader in her class, reading at the 5th grade level.  I'm so proud of her!  We're very happy with the school, it's the #2 school in the state.

Tyler is excited about the new neighborhood.  There are so many kids and in the evenings everyone seems to come out of the woodwork.  They've really made us feel welcome here.  It's the ideal neighborhood.  Tyler keeps wanting to go across the street and ask the little 10 year old girl if she can come out and play, I'm still not sure how to handle that one.

Joseph's job is going good so far, the first week they sent him home to help me unpack and told him to come back on Monday.  It was very much needed and appreciated.

The ward is amazing, they've really wrapped their arms around us and helped us out in so many ways.  It's ideal, the way the church really operates outside of Utah.  (Sorry Utah)

Finding an OB has been a challenge.  No one wants to take me as a patient because I'm too far along.  One doctor hestitanly agreed to take me but the problem is they have a "No Children Under 12" policy in their office.  This normally wouldn't be a problem except that we're new here and finding babysitters is still a challenge, I hate to ask people I hardly know.

So until next time, sitting amongst the yet to be unpacked boxes, we're very happy and content down here in Louisiana.
